Learning From Mistakes

So I really haven't written anything for the longest time. Since then and now, I finished my first term and it's also now 2010. (On a side note: It always amazes me when you see kids now who were born in 2005 or something. I always believe that they should resemble more or less like babies or toddlers but now they're already up and walking, talking, going to school...It makes me feel a little old.)

I am actually happy about my grades this term, I suppose studying more does equal higher grades. If you really know me, I am a person who aims high but who is incredibly lazy as well. For once, I actually studied more (as I kept on claiming I would after each term) and it did pay off. Now, I did still waste time during my claimed study time..but one step at a time...I am learning from my mistakes.

Learning from mistakes...
It's really not that easy sometimes, but I wonder what it takes for a person to realize what unfavorable path they are taking? We all know people like this, people you want to shake and say: "wake up, look at what you are doing!?!", people that are really playing with their personal life, health, future, etc...if that makes sense..

Even I, as I mentioned above, kept saying that I would study more every term and I didn't. I wasn't failing, but I wanted all As...I need all As from now on and at the beginning of the term, because of the choices I had made, there was a chance I wasn't going to reach that goal.

I leave this by saying something a prof once told us in lecture:
To be smart is learn from your mistakes, but to be wise is to learn from other people's mistakes.
He advised us however that life's too short to always learn from our mistakes and that we should be wise more often instead.
